Introduction
A. Alfred Chahine, MD, FACS, FAAP, joined Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as a Pediatric General Surgeon and Emory University as an Associate Professor in the fall of 2019. He came to Children’s by way of Washington, D.C., where he served as Chief of the Division of Pediatric General Surgery and Residency Program Director in the Department of Surgery at Georgetown University. Throughout his medical career, Dr. Chahine has been the recipient of multiple teaching awards, including when he was a medical student and surgical resident at Vanderbilt University and Georgetown University.
Dr. Chahine completed his fellowship training at Emory University School of Medicine in 1998. Prior to his fellowship, he earned a Doctor of Medicine at Saint Louis University and completed his residency at Vanderbilt University.
He has experience and interests in the field of pediatric general surgery, including but not limited to neonatal surgery, minimally invasive surgery and surgical education.
