Introduction

Susan McManus Lee, PhD, ABPP-CN, is a board-certified Pediatric Neuropsychologist at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Prior to joining Children’s in 2014, Dr. Lee received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Emory University and obtained her doctoral degree within the Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology and Behavioral Neurosciences programs at Georgia State University. She then completed a predoctoral internship at Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, with primary rotations in neuropsychology and pediatric psychology. After completing her internship, Dr. Lee returned to Atlanta to complete a two-year clinical neuropsychology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Dr. Lee's clinical and research interests include outcomes following perinatal/birth-related injuries, acute neurological illness, acquired brain injuries (i.e., hypoxic/ischemic brain injury, stroke) and cognitive remediation/rehabilitation. She currently cares for children with complex perinatal histories within the Neurodevelopment Follow-up Program by monitoring neurocognitive development and guiding interventions as they reach school-age. Dr. Lee is also partnering with her colleagues to expand cognitive remediation by implementing C-READY, a program that focuses on adaptive independence, transition readiness and executive skills. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lee is actively involved in her department’s training and supervisory programs. In 2021, she was appointed Associate Director of the Emory University School of Medicine Internship in Health Service Psychology (neuropsychology track).

In her spare time, you will find Dr. Lee cooking, traveling, enjoying the city’s many restaurants and festivals, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and daughter.
