Introduction
Dr. Kirchner has been practicing in Atlanta since 1995 and on staff at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta before it was Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, having previously served years ago as Medical Staff President for Scottish Rite and Chair of Credentialing before and during the merger of Egleston and Scottish Rite Children's Hospitals. Previously he worked in Denver, CO at the University of Colorado and before that he worked at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY as a Pediatric Pulmonologist. He was born and raised in a small town in Illinois, and met his wife during his Pediatric Residency training at the University of Iowa. He has been involved in several Cystic Fibrosis research studies throughout his career, and previously conducted "bench research" on lung growth and development early in my career. He and his wife have three children. They enjoy traveling, cheering on the Braves, golfing, and hiking with their two dogs.
