Introduction
Shannon Jones, MD, joined the Children’s Heart Center in 2018, after completing her pediatric cardiology training at Emory University School of Medicine. Shannon was born and raised in Durham, NC and attended college at Duke University. After graduating college, she obtained a Master’s of Science degree in Physiology from Georgetown University. She subsequently completed medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine, in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Jones then completed her general pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. After residency, she worked for a year as a house physician at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, on their cardiac step-down unit, prior to starting her pediatric cardiology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include longitudinal follow-up of complex congenital heart disease and neurodevelopmental outcomes of patients with congenital heart disease.
