Pediatric Rehabilitation Services
The transition years between childhood and adulthood can be difficult. Adolescents and young adults needing rehabilitation for traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and neurological conditions are confronted with a unique set of challenges in addition to the normal stress of everyday life.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta provides services for adolescents and young teens who require care due to accidents, illnesses or congenital defects. Our goal is to help them develop the skills needed to make the transition to being independent adults through programs such as:
- School reentry
- Vocational Counseling
- Driver’s Evaluation
- Ventilator Program
- Comprehensive Feeding
- Weekly support and education opportunities for parents, siblings and families
- Weekly community outings to train patients and their families in real-life situations
Our pediatric rehabilitation programs offer a wide range of services to assist patients and their families throughout their recovery. We involve the whole family in the rehabilitation process to help heal the physical and emotional needs of each child.
