Whether it is emergency surgery or a planned procedure, children need surgeons devoted to the care of children. The pediatric surgical teams at the Children’s four surgical locations are experienced in caring for the wide variety of problems children may have, ranging from hernias or appendicitis to injuries such as abdominal trauma. Nearly half of all the operations performed at Children’s involve a pediatric general surgeon.
