At Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, we recognize the importance of empowered families and communities. The sentiment that “knowledge is power” rings particularly true in the realm of healthcare. It is with that mindset, then, that we have started the Mom to Mom Blogger group.

But why blogs—and why MOM’s who blog? We scoured the net for the premier group of Atlanta area mom’s whose blogs demonstrated a passion for wellness, family, community and life! Meet the bloggers:



  • Liza Cardona  

    Liza Cardona - The Bluebird Patch

    Liza Cardona is a Latina blogger, Clinical Psychologist and mother of two that lives in Lawrenceville, GA. Through her website, 'The Bluebird Patch', she teaches people how to have a mindful, healthier, and happier life by building a more caring and compassionate society. She advocates against family homelessness and poverty and believes in cultivating charitable values to children at an early age. Liza is also a contributing blogger on 11 Alive News online community.

    Stacie Haight Connerty, a self-professed tech geek, foodie and social media junkie lives in Atlanta with her three children (age 8 and younger) and her husband.     Sojourner Marable Grimmett - Married with Two Boys

    Recently named one of Georgia’s top Mom Bloggers, Sojourner educates and empowers thousands of readers monthly through her blog, Married with Two Boys. As a social media consultant, she has worked with Fortune 500 companies and local businesses throughout the Greater Metro Atlanta Area. She has been featured on FOX 5’s ‘Good Day Atlanta’ with Dr. Oz, Atlanta & Company, and CNN. A community organizer and global advocate, Sojourner is co-founder of Table for Two, a national campaign to establish lactation rooms in public places. She lives in Atlanta with her husband, Roland and their two sons, Roland and Joshua.

    Melissa Harvey   

    Melissa Harvey - Straight from the Heart

    Melissa Harvey of Newnan, Ga. speaks "Straight from the Heart" in her blog, which features her family's experience with congenital heart disease (CHD). A mother of two, she created her blog to spread CHD awareness while offering hope to other families. Melissa is also president of the Atlanta chapter and Advocacy Committee Chairperson of It's My Heart, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which provides support to and advocates for those affected by acquired and congenital heart defects. She also blogs for Heartwaves and CHD blog and is a preschool teacher assistant. 

    Piera Jolly

    Piera is a 30-something wife, mother, blogger, aspiring cookbook author and wannabe photographer living in Atlanta, Ga. When she's not puttering around the kitchen, she's trying to keep up with her 3-year-old son, Lucas, or hanging out with her husband and best friend, Mike. Founded in 2008, Jolly Mom is a savvy blog that provides moms with helpful parenting information, fun child-friendly activities, craft ideas, recipes, and the latest trends for families. is also proud to have been named a Power Mom by Nielsen in 2009 and one of Access Communication's Top 50 Mommy Blogs in 2010.

    Christy Noll lives in Alpharetta, Ga. with her husband, sons and Golden Doodle, Ginny. After years of selling fixed income securities, she became a work-at-home mom when her youngest was two. She and her husband launched with a goal to help local moms connect, offering information on events, deals, doctors, schools, where kids can eat free or even places with specials for women to go on girls night out.

    Nicole Pope - Journey to Josie 

    Nicole is a Minnesota Girl living in Atlanta. She is a family loving, adoption supporting, homeschooling, Starbucks loving, husband supporting, blog writing woman who is madly in love with her life. In 2011, her family adopted a precious boy with Hyperplastic Left Heart Syndrome. They are navigating this new land and learning to live whole heartedly with only half a heart.

    Renee Ross - Cutie Booty Cakes

    Renée Ross is the former State AIDS Director of Georgia and former Director of Public Policy for the New York AIDS Coalition with more than 10 years in this field. Currently, she leverages the power of social media to raise awareness of health and social-related causes. She has lost more than 50 pounds and utilized social media to document her journey. Renée has been featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Ebony, Upscale, Jet, Southern Living and Parents Magazines, Mom Blogging for Dummies and the Digital Mom handbook. Most importantly she is the mother of her five year old son, Mekhi.

    Maria Smith  

    Maria Smith - Mamalicious Maria

    Maria Smith is a writer, wife and mom to 4 children ages 6 and under. In her pre-baby days, she was a TV producer in Chicago and now practices PR and media consulting in her "free" time.

    Phoebe Tsai   

    Phoebe Tsai - East Cobb Mom

    Phoebe Tsai lives in Buckhead with her husband and son. She is an IT internal auditor who also enjoys volunteering, reading and cycling. She started her blog,, when she couldn't find helpful resources for moms living in the Buckhead neighborhood. She also wanted to provide fellow moms with helpful product reviews, healthy family recipes, and notifications of fun events happening in Atlanta.

     Franchesca Warren  

    Franchesca Warren - Bossy Girl in the City

    Franchesca Warren is an educator, author, freelance writer/editor and blogger who uses her voice to help educate mothers how to live their best life. Franchesca manages an online editing company, The Editing Nerd, and mentors young girls in the City of Atlanta. In 2010, she decided to start a blog that addresses all aspects of being a mother while maintaining a career and social life. She is a proud mother to three children ranging in ages from 2 to 11 and is married to her college sweetheart.


This program is designed to keep the communities we serve as informed as possible, and to serve as direct source of feedback for suggestions and improvements to Children’s. We’ll accomplish this by developing an ongoing relationship that provides these bloggers with the latest information and goings-on at Children’s and the healthcare field.
