ATLANTA (Holiday 2011)—Through sparkling snowflakes, three wise men and jingle bells, 9 children from metro Atlanta are sharing their creativity for a good cause: the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Holiday Card Program. Each of the children’s artwork comprises one of nine Christmas, Hanukah or winter-themed greetings cards that will raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Since the cards debuted more than 20 years ago, personal and corporate purchases have raised more than $2 million to care for the hundreds of thousands of sick and injured children each year in Georgia.
The 2011 Holiday Card Program also features holiday season cards and a thank you card. The youthful minds behind this year’s creations hail from Alpharetta, City of Atlanta, Decatur, Lilburn, Mableton, Marietta, Snellville and West Point.
Proceeds from the 2011 Holiday Card program will benefit multiple Children’s service lines, including the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service, Emergency Departments, Marcus Autism Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Units, Respiratory, Surgery, Sibley Heart Center and Transplant Services.
On any given day at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, 550 children and teens are treated in the Emergency Departments. At least 100 surgeries are performed – many offering second chances at life through organ transplants. And one new cancer patient is diagnosed, with a team of doctors and researchers dedicated to curing his disease. Every day, the lifesaving work would not be possible without the generous philanthropic and volunteer support Children’s relies on as a not-for-profit organization. Children’s is committed to caring for the hundreds of thousands of sick and injured children every year in Georgia – with no child turned away simply because of a family’s inability to pay. With three hospitals and 17 neighborhood locations, Children’s is one of the largest clinical care providers for children in the country. By supporting Children’s through the 2011 Holiday Card Program, you are helping save the lives of children and teens.
Each $12 card pack includes 20 cards and 21 envelopes, unless otherwise noted. Matching address labels are available for an additional $5 donation. Customizable e-cards featuring Holiday Card Program artwork are also available for a minimum donation of $5. To read about the artists, request a catalog or to place an order, visit www.choa.org/cards or call 404-785-7380. The cards will be available through Dec. 31 and can be found at retail locations across metro Atlanta.
