Events

  • Sickle Cell Education Day
    On Saturday, September 29, 2012, everyone who has ever been affected by sickle cell disease: children, parents, relatives, friends of the family, teachers and healthcare workers are invited to a one-day educational event. The event features  programs that cover treatment updates, new clinical advances and school health issues.  
  • National Sickle Cell Awareness Month
    During the month of September, the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's will be hosting several activities to raise awareness of sickle cell disease.
  • Atlanta Anchors Picnic
    The Atlanta Anchors is a group of family members and friends of children who live with sickle cell disease. This group helps to support and improve the quality of life of the children with sickle cell disease in the community.
  • Buddy Program Fall Picnic
    For children with sickle cell and medical students who participate in the Buddy Program. 

Support Groups

  • Camp New Hope
    Summer camp that provides recreational and educational opportunities to children with sickle cell disease
  • Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
    Camp in Connecticut that serves children between the ages of 7 and 15 who have been diagnosed with cancer or serious blood disorders
