The Taylor Brooks Foundation was founded after the April 1, 2008 death of Taylor from a rare childhood cancer – Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT) – in a desire to continue the good works Taylor began for the other children battling cancer.
Our mission is to serve patients, families and doctors dealing with childhood cancer through:
- Increasing the visibility of childhood cancer
- Humanitarian support of the patients and caregivers
- Resources to analyze and implement treatment options
- Resources to research new treatments
The Taylor Brooks Foundation is currently sponsoring our first Fellowship. The goal of this program is to train academically oriented Hematologists/Oncologists who will be involved in a lifetime of excellence in pediatric patient care, teaching and clinical, translational or basic research.
The Foundation also reaches patiently directly through weekly delivery of comfort food, goodie bags for the patients on every holiday, delivery of comfort kits for new and unexpected hospitalizations, and laundry kits for inpatient families.
