Children’s Transport Team

Transport Team

The Children’s team transports critically ill newborns, children and adolescents to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta hospitals or other specialized care hospitals in our area.

The elite team of critical care physicians, nurses, respiratory care professionals and paramedics delivers patient care while working in specially equipped ambulances.

We offer the highest level of transport care available with a timely response. By communicating with physicians, the Transport Team initiates treatments that would normally start after the child is admitted to Children’s. The patient then benefits from a direct admission into our Intensive Care Units, Emergency Department or Patient Care Areas.

In addition, we understand the unique needs of children and their families. Through family-centered care, the Transport Team is able to address parents’ concerns and allow them to ride with their child.
