Ansley Arrington

Ansley ArringtonOne year ago in March, the parents of little Ansley Arrington found out she needed myringotomy (ear) tubes.  The family, residents of Griffin, quickly decided that if their 1-year-old needed surgery, she wouldn’t have it anywhere except Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Jamie Arrington, Ansley’s mother, is a neonatal nurse in an adult hospital. Her first-hand experience dealing with the smallest patients has taught her that children are not just small adults—they need specialized care from pediatric-trained medical staff.

“I didn’t want to have to be a ‘nurse’ while my child had surgery,” said Jamie. “I wanted to be a mom and focus only on supporting her throughout the process. The recommendations and rave reviews I received about the Children’s Surgery Center at Meridian Mark enabled me to relax and know my daughter was in highly capable and caring hands.”

“Like all parents, we hope that neither of our children ever needs surgery,” said Jamie. “But if they do, we’ll definitely return to Children’s. The surgical services staff went above and beyond to make what can be a frightening experience easy and pleasant.  I appreciate that so much as a nurse, but even more as a parent.”
