ATLANTA (February 16, 2018) – FORTUNE magazine has ranked Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to its elite list of “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America. It is the 13th consecutive time the not-for-profit pediatric healthcare system has been named to the list. Landing at No. 77, Children’s is the highest rated company headquartered in Georgia and the only hospital system in the state to earn this distinction.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to making kids better today and healthier tomorrow. The free-standing pediatric health care system’s specialized care helps children get better faster and live healthier lives. Managing more than a million patient visits annually at three hospitals, Marcus Autism Center and 27 neighborhood locations, Children’s is the largest health care provider for children in Georgia and one of the largest pediatric clinical care providers in the country. Children’s puts a primary focus on employees, so it makes sense that the organization was ranked on a list that highlights innovation and people-focused programs.
In addition to traditional benefits, Children’s offers many unique programs, including backup child care, onsite employee health clinics, onsite massage, concierge services, expectant parent support and $10,000 in adoption and fertility assistance. Children’s is committed to supporting employees—at work and at home. For example, programs like Strong4Life, offer physical fitness and stress relief options.
“Our employees are what make Children’s a great place to work. Their compassion and dedication to our patients and each other shines through in everything they do,” said Linda Matzigkeit, Chief Administrative Officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. “We are honored to celebrate our 13th consecutive year on FORTUNE’s list of best companies to work for, and grateful to our employees for all they do to make Children’s such a special place.”
Children’s was selected among hundreds of companies vying for a place on the list this year. Applicant companies opt to participate in the selection process, which includes an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about their programs and company practices. Great Place to Work® then evaluates each application using its unique methodology based on five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
Additionally, we have been recently named to other FORTUNE rankings, including 2018 Best Workplaces for Giving Back, Best Workplaces for Diversity, Best Workplaces for Women and Best Workplaces in Health Care.
