Celebrate Our Superhero Patients This Cape Day
What is Cape Day?
Cape Day is an annual event in honor of the superhero patients battling illnesses and injuries at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Our patients are fighting obstacles every day, challenges most of us could never dream of. Every day, they put on their capes—literally and figuratively—and fight. We wear capes to show our superhero patients that they aren’t fighting alone.
How Can I Get Involved?
We all know someone we can wear a cape for and honor each year. Children's encourages its patients and employees, as well as schools, organizations and communities across Georgia to wear a cape on on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025.
Invite your community to join us in celebrating and honoring our courageous patients.
- Buy a cape: Purchase a Children’s cape and wear it on Friday, October 24th to show your support. All proceeds benefit the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
- Wear a cape: Show the kids at Children’s you support them by wearing your cape on Cape Day.
Find your hidden capes from past Cape Days or use this guide to make your own.
- Show us your cape: Post your photos and videos to social media using #CapeDayATL so that our little superheroes can see your support.
Even businesses and corporations can celebrate and honor our resilient patients on Cape Day.
- Fundraise: Invite your employees and colleagues to wear a cape and jeans on Cape Day with a $5 donation to Children's.
- Share with your customers: Offer discounts to your customers who wear a cape on Cape Day, or make a donation to Children’s for everyone who does.

Schools are great places to celebrate and honor our strong patients on Cape Day.
- Nominate a Cape Day Ambassador: A Cape Day Ambassador is a student who helps other kids and understands the importance of kindness, putting others before yourself and giving back.
- Host a Hallway Parade: Students and staff can take a second of the day to parade through the hallways showing off their capes.
- Morning Announcements: Take a second to recognize Cape Day during the morning announcements at your school to serve as a reminder for those to wear their capes on Oct. 24.
