Introduction
Christopher Porter, MD, is a board-certified Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Porter currently serves as the Director of the Cancer Predisposition Clinic at the Aflac Cancer Center. Prior to his arrival at Children’s, he was on the faculty at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Dr. Porter earned his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine in Augusta, Ga, prior to completing his residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He then completed his post-doctoral training with fellowships in pediatric hematology/oncology and in biochemistry and molecular genetics, both at University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Research
Dr. Porter's lab studies mechanisms of carcinogenesis and treatment resistance, with the goal of developing novel therapeutic strategies to improve the care of children with cancer.
