The Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Service (CLPS) offers mental health evaluation and treatment to hospitalized children and adolescents.
When a child/adolescent is determined to have a mental health need the attending physician orders a psychiatric consultation. Typical needs identified include:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Difficulty coping with a physical illness
- Difficulty following the prescribed medical treatment plan
- Pain management
- Need for psychiatric medications
- Developmental issues and eating problems
