In conjunction with Emory University School of Medicine, Georgia Tech and Morehouse, Children’s seeks answers to the most challenging childhood medical conditions through teaching and research.

Children who are overweight are now suffering from diseases once seen only in adults, such as hypertension, liver disease and Type 2 diabetes. That's why Children’s launched Strong4Life, a wellness movement designed to ignite societal change and reverse the epidemic of childhood obesity and its associated diseases in Georgia.

In conjunction with Emory University School of Medicine, Georgia Institute of Technology and Morehouse School of Medicine, Children’s seeks answers to the most challenging childhood medical conditions through teaching and research.

Every day, more than 6,000 children and young adults in Georgia with diabetes go to school, play sports, have friends and do pretty much everything they did before they found out they had diabetes. Children's sees about 400 newly diagnosed patients with diabetes every year, caring for nearly 4,000 families.

Created and funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health, the PHN is a collaboration of clinical sites and a data coordinating center that conducts research studies in children with heart disease.
