Introduction
Dawn Simon, MD, is a Pediatric Pulmonologist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Associate Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. She currently serves as Division Chief of Pulmonology, Asthma, Cystic Fibrosis and Sleep. Dr. Simon joined Children’s in 2007 after completing her fellowship training at Boston Children’s Hospital and teaching at Harvard Medical School. Over the course of her career, Dr. Simon has focused on developing a better understanding of airway disease and improving the lives of her patients.
Research Interests
Dr. Simon’s clinical research interests lie in aerodigestive disorders, morbidity and mortality in technology dependent patients, pulmonary hypertension, and pulmonary complications of bone marrow transplant. Her educational research interests include participation in redefining how we evaluate trainees using entrustable professional activities.Dr. Simon’s prior basic research collaborations involved understanding the role of the airway epithelium in the regulation of lung development and inflammation from asthma to cystic fibrosis to sickle cell disease.
