Children's earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval in 2007 by upholding national standards for healthcare quality and safety set forth by the Joint Commission. Since 1951, The Joint Commission has developed professionally based standards and evaluated the compliance of healthcare organizations.

The July issue of Atlanta Magazine celebrated 83 Children’s physicians in its 2013 list of the “Top Doctors of Atlanta.” Children’s physicians were listed in 23 specialty areas including cardiac, dermatology, hematology, medical oncology, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, pulmonology, surgery and urology, just to name a few.
