Ron Frieson is president of the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation and External Affairs. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to making kids better today and healthier tomorrow by raising funds to support Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-profit pediatric healthcare system that is among the leading pediatric hospitals in the nation. Frieson leads all fundraising efforts in support of Children's, including annual gifts, major and planned gifts, corporate partnerships, grant development, endowment enhancement and special events.
He also focuses on expanding and developing new opportunities within the broad vision of leading community outreach and legislative efforts to ensure Children's is an important voice in critical national dialogue around caring for kids.
Well known throughout Georgia for his leadership, Frieson served in several key positions for AT&T, including President of Georgia Operations and the organization's first Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer. Frieson also served in an interim role as President of the Atlanta Urban League. Frieson is active within the community, serving as a board member for several organizations, including American InterContinental University, Colorado Technical University, SunTrust Bank-Atlanta and Zoo Atlanta. Also, Frieson is past Chair of the National Trustees of the American Kidney Fund.
Frieson earned a master's degree in business administration from Georgia State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Tennessee.
