Por Los Niños Radiothon Reaches $1.1 Million Donated to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
(ATLANTA) Nov. 19, 2013— This year, the fifth annual Por Los Niños Radiothon raised more than $220,500 for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, reaching a total of $1.1 million donated over the past five years. For two days every fall, on-air personalities from La Raza (102.3/100.1 FM) and La Mega (96.5 FM) share the mic with some of Atlanta’s most inspiring celebrities - the patients of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta - during the Por Los Niños Hispanic Radiothon.
During the two day radiothon, listeners hear the testimonials of parents and patients of Children’s. For these two days, all regular programming is suspended on La Raza in order to focus solely on the efforts of raising money for the children of Atlanta. Many artists, guests, and local business owners come in studio for live interviews. Listeners are asked to call in the station or visit www.laraza1023.com or http://www.lamega965fm.com to donate.
Throughout the year, La Raza and La Mega engage the Hispanic community and patients of Children's through other events such as the Heroes Campaign, soccer matches and toy drives.
