How long are camp family weekends?
Welcome Weekends and Reunion Weekends begin on Friday evenings during the check-in time period of 6 - 7 p.m. Campers and parents are released at the completion of the weekend around noon on Sunday.
Volunteers: Please arrive to camp on Friday afternoon by 4 p.m. The weekend concludes by 1 p.m. on Sunday.
What do I need to bring to camp?
Please reference our Camp Packing List for everything you will need to bring to camp. Athletic clothing and shoes are a necessity.
Where will I sleep?
Family Weekends: Camp features 16 camper cabins which sleep 14 people. The cabins’ unique design provides the opportunity to partition small parts of the cabin for additional privacy. Each cabin has HVAC and is equipped with full bathrooms. Each family will have their own partitioned space within the larger cabins.
Camper Week: Campers will stay in cabins during camper week according to their gender and age group, along with their cabin counselor. All cabins have HVAC, full bathrooms and sleep 14 people.
Volunteers: Volunteers for Family Weekends will stay in a separate volunteer cabin. During Camper Week, cabin counselor volunteers will stay in their assigned cabins with their campers. All cabins have HVAC, full bathrooms and sleep 14 people.
Is transportation available to and from camp?
Yes, transportation is available, for those in need, to and from CampStrong4Life. Please indicate your need on the registration packet. A Camp Strong4Life staff member will be in touch closer to the time of your camp with specifics for the time and place of your pick-up location.
Is there a discount in tuition for sending more than one child to camp?
Yes. Families who wish to send more than one child to camp can do so at a discounted rate of 20 percent.The total fee is reduced at check-out.
Does my child’s BMI have to be above the 85th percentile to attend camp?
Yes. Due to the nature and content of our programming, eligible campers must be children ages 9 to 14 who are overweight and obese (body mass index [BMI] is greater than 85th percentile).
I’d like to sponsor a child to attend Camp Strong4Life, can I do so?
Yes. Please contact Lauren Lorenzo at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in sponsoring the funds for a child to attend camp.
What weekends am I required to attend?
If you are a parent, your attendance is required at one Family Welcome Weekend and one Family Reunion Weekend.
If you are a camper, your attendance is required at one Family Welcome Weekend, Camper Week and one Family Reunion Weekend.
