Pediatric Patient Population

Thousands of children—hundreds of them newly diagnosed each year—depend on the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center to treat their diseases and care for them and their families. Our patient population includes:

  • 375 newly diagnosed childhood cancer patients each year
  • More than 700 patients with various pediatric blood disorders annually
  • More than 1,700 children with sickle cell disease
  • Nearly 1,000 childhood cancer survivors who are at least two years off therapy
  • More than 29,000 outpatient visits and more than 17,000 inpatient days annually
  • More than 800 pediatric blood and marrow transplants (BMTs)
  • More than 100 newly diagnosed brain tumor patients each year
