Our Commitment

At the Congenital Heart Center of Georgia, we aim to ensure:

  • All patients—children and adults—receive high quality care from dedicated professionals who are specially trained to monitor their condition
  • Patients receive the appropriate follow-up care
  • Young adult patients do not get lost in the transition from a pediatric to an adult center

Why Choose Us?

Children's is a national leader in pediatric cardiac volumes and outcomes. Each year, Children's performs nearly 900 pediatric heart operations and evaluates more than 35,000 children with suspected or confirmed congenital and acquired heart defects. From simple arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats) to pediatric heart transplants, our team of more than 45 pediatric cardiologists provides the most comprehensive pediatric cardiovascular diagnostic, treatment and management services in the Southeast. Additionally, we have patient survival rates that are better than the national average despite operating on some of the most complex cases. The Emory Adult Congenital Heart Center, a subspecialty within the Emory Heart & Vascular Center, is an internationally recognized cardiac service that focuses on the care of adults with congenital heart disease (CHD).  We provide quality healthcare services to our patients and their family members, strive to prevent complications associated with CHD during adulthood and facilitate best outcomes. The Emory Adult Congenital Heart Center team works with specialists across the Emory Heart & Vascular Center and Sibley Heart Center in areas such as advanced cardiac imaging, congenital cardiac surgery, interventional pediatric and adult congenital cardiology, women’s health, and many others. Learn more about the Emory Adult Congenital Heart Center or use the links below for more information on specific conditions and procedures.

Because of our large patient volumes and close collaboration with prestigious research institutes such as Georgia Institute of Technology and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we are in a unique position to lead research in congenital heart disease. In fact, we are one of only three sites nationally awarded a CDC grant titled "Surveillance of Congenital Heart Disease, Focusing on Adolescents and Adults."
