The Children’s Neurofibromatosis Clinic is committed to treating the conditions and symptoms associated with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1). NF-1 is a genetic disease causing multiple tumors of nerves. Some other symptoms of NF-1 include:
- pale tan or light brown birthmarks on the body
- freckling under the arms or groin region
- large head size
- learning disabilities
- trouble with speech
- curve of the spine (scoliosis)
