Materials
Reference books: A current collection of textbooks for each medical specialty with emphasis in pediatrics
Journals: Over 220 journal titles in general medicine, pediatrics, nursing, allied health specialties and healthcare management; may not be checked out, but photocopying access is available
Databases & internet access: Medline, Cinahl, Psych Info, Micromedix, Emory’s Euclid online catalog and other databases are available for research. 90 full-text medical journal titles are online. Internet access with medical bookmarked sites is offered. Access Emory Eagle email and interactive software for genetic diagnosis, nursing simulations, medical terminology, lab tests and values and more.
Audiovisuals: Videotapes including Egleston's Pediatric Grand Rounds and Hospital Satellite Network (HSTN) programs are on-site for check out. Audio tapes on pediatric topics and health management issues also circulate. An AV Directory is available in each library and some off-site centers. CE credit available for many AV tapes and audios.
Management materials: Books and videos on leadership, time management and communication can be checked out.
Services
No fees are charged for routine services, but requests must be related to patient care, research, staff development and management at Children’s. Library staff gives immediate attention to information requests needed for clinical emergencies involving patient care.
Online searches: Library staff instruct users in database searching and perform searches for users as needed.
Article & book retrieval: We provide Interlibrary Loan service for a book, journal article or audio visual not available in the libraries. Copy material at no charge.
