Dr. Ekşioğlu’s research interests include: • Performing translational and clinical research in pathophysiology, genetics, modern surgical and nonsurgical treatment modalities for tuberous sclerosis complex. • Performing studies in genetic, molecular and neurophysiological basis of epileptogenesis. • Studying germline and somatic mutations underlying malformations of cortical development and focal cortical dysplasia. • Studying classification, pathophysiology, neurophysiology and genetics of epileptic encephalopathies and electrical status epilepticus of slow wave sleep (ESES).
