Check the list below to see if your child has a primary diagnoses that is eligible for treatment at the Children’s Pediatric Dentistry Department:
- Cardiac conditions
- Congenital (from birth) and acquired craniofacial conditions
- Hematological/oncological conditions
- Neuroscience conditions (excluding seizure disorders)
- Select lung conditions*
- Solid organ transplants
* Must be preapproved by the Children’s pediatric dentists
Many children with certain medical conditions can be treated by a family dentistry practice. The Children’s Pediatric Dentistry Department does not see healthy siblings of patients, nor any patient with any one of the following conditions, without a primary diagnosis on the list above:
- Autism and related disorders
- Bone muscular disorder
- Cerebral palsy
- Developmental delays
- Down syndrome (excluding those with cardiac issues)
- Epilepsy and other seizure disorders
- Gastrointestinal disorders

- Intellectual disability
- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- Pulmonary disease (excluding those who are preapproved)
- Speech problems
- Spina bifida
