Massage Therapy for Patient Parents

The stress of caring for a sick child can take both a physical and an emotional toll on parents. That's why Children’s has teamed up with Global Body Works to provide support and care for parents and caregivers through chair massages.

Massage therapy provides the following benefits:

  • Physically relaxes the body
  • Lowers blood pressure and calms the nervous system
  • Reduces tension headaches
  • Reduces mental stress and calms an agitated temper
  • Reduces anxiety and provides a feeling of well-being

For parents of inpatients: 3-9 p.m. daily.
For parents of outpatients: 7 a.m.- 7 p.m., Mon.-Fri.
The massage therapist will identify a location away from patient care areas to perform the massage. Massages cannot be provided at your child's bedside due to safety and infection control concerns.

Parents can contact Howard Mullen to arrange an appointment for a massage (Text message Cell phone 404-274-4796, office 404-812-0340.
