Imagine a healthy summer destination just for kids. An overnight camp on a picturesque lake, where an entire week is packed with fun: zip-lining, dancing, nutritious cooking competitions and “Supermarket Spying.” A place where kids jump-start getting their health on-track by learning how eating well can be delicious, and being active is actually a blast.
Welcome to Camp Strong4Life, where kids 9 to 15 years old with a body mass index (BMI) greater than the 85th percentile spend a fun-filled, action-packed week with our physicians, nutritionists and exercise physiologists learning to set healthy goals and incorporate them at home.
The best part of Camp Strong4Life? It works. Last year, more than 80 percent of returning campers decreased or maintained their BMI, and campers report making healthier choices—like consuming more fruits, vegetables and water, and fewer sugary treats like soda—after attending camp.
