Why Donate to Children’s?

If you’re ready to make a charitable contribution, there are a lot of worthy causes out there. How do you decide? Look for both quality and quantity. When you choose to give to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the value of your donation will be multiplied many times through our wide reach and exceptional care.

Here are just some of the reasons to give to Children’s.

Caring for Kids. A Lot of Kids.

Your gift to Children’s supports care for young patients from every county in Georgia and also from around the nation. We’re one of the largest pediatric healthcare organizations in the U.S. and the largest in Georgia. In 2017, we performed more pediatric surgeries than any other children’s hospital in the country.

With your help, our team of more than 2,000 pediatric physicians care for kids at multiple locations. We welcome children and their families to our three hospitals, Center for Advanced Pediatrics, Marcus Autism Center and 27 neighborhood locations, including eight Urgent Care Centers.

Altogether, your dollars help us care for nearly half a million kids and teens each year.

Providing World-Class Care with TLC

We work hard every day for our young patients. Our pediatric experts provide advanced care in more than 70 specialty areas, including diabetes, asthma, cancer, concussion and many more. In fact, we are consistently ranked as one of the nation’s best children’s hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. We’ve also been recognized by Atlanta Magazine and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for the work of our excellent physicians and other employees, including “Health-Care Heroes.”

We’re dedicated to helping our kids in every way—from diagnosing and treating their conditions to easing their fears, even to helping them keep up with schoolwork. And whenever possible we try to fit in some fun—our child life specialists help kids be kids by giving them chances to play.

Finding Cures for the Future through Research

Donating to Children’s helps fund studies that can enable us to discover and develop new treatments for childhood illnesses. Our researchers partner with Emory University and other organizations to conduct a range of studies including basic research and clinical trials that test the most promising treatments.

In some cases, our young patients have the opportunity to participate in a clinical trial. These trials provide the most up-to-date treatments available for specific conditions, and in 2017, 5,800 kids at Children’s took part in this type of research. The results can help improve care for many more children with the same condition in the future.

It Takes A Village

Each sick child who comes to Children’s has a story. The little girl who was born with a heart defect, the young boy with a traumatic brain injury, the teenager who has cancer—each one is an individual. They have families who struggle with anxiety, fear and even finances. Your donation helps us provide millions of dollars each year to cover care for children whose families can’t afford it on their own.

It costs nearly $4 million to keep our doors open—every day! Your gift, no matter the amount, makes a big difference. You can direct your gift to a specific research or treatment program, or allow us to use it where it’s needed most. Thank you for considering a donation to Children’s.
