Pediatric Pharmacy Residency Program

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta offers both PGY-1 Advanced Pharmacy Practice and PGY-2 Pediatric Solid Organ Transplant residencies with the opportunity to grow professionally while working as part of an elite interdisciplinary team on-site at one of our three hospitals. With multiple rotation sites around Atlanta, Children’s offers the unique opportunity to experience pharmacy practice in both a community hospital setting on our Scottish Rite campus, as well as a teaching hospital at our Egleston location.

Children's currently offers the following resident positions:

About Our Program

Each resident has one year to complete a major research project in an area of interest to them, resulting in a manuscript worthy of submission for publication. In addition to honing written communication skills, residents will enhance their confidence in public speaking through a variety of opportunities for professional presentations. Each year, residents will present during pharmacy grand rounds, provide in-services for nurses, pharmacists, and physicians, and complete a poster session for the GSHP conference.

For more information about our programs, please review our Pediatric Pharmacy Residency packet.

Staffing/on-call duties

The pharmacy department at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta provides 24-hour-a-day on-call pharmacokinetic services to manage dosing of critical medications for our patients. All residents will rotate weekends to assist with this service, as well as gain experience staffing in the ICU pharmacy satellite. Each resident will be expected to cover one major and one minor holiday during their 12-month experience.
