Services We Offer

Our interventional radiologist meets patients and families before the procedure to assess the child's condition, discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure and answer questions.

During a procedure, our interventional radiologists use their expertise in reading X-rays, ultrasounds and other medical images to guide small catheters, wires and other instruments through the blood vessels or other pathways to treat diseases through the skin. These procedures are typically less invasive than traditional surgery.

After the procedure, physicians may meet with patients to assist with follow-up care.

Our Unique Approach

Children's has one of the largest pediatric radiology programs and offers one of the only pediatric interventional radiology programs in the country. We use state-of-the-art equipment and appropriately sized needles, catheters and wires to perform interventional radiology procedures in children.

Low-dose radiology exposure protocols and specialized technology are implemented to make sure each child gets the appropriate dose of radiation for his size.
