Our son Jackson was always very energetic, but as he grew he seemed to have more and more trouble being able to run and exercise, both at school and home. Finally, after dizziness accompanied his symptoms, he was diagnosed with a heart defect.
No stranger to heart issues (our daughter Laney was born with complete congenital atrioventricular block), we knew surgery would be needed. Back in July 2014, Jackson had open heart surgery to repair sinus venosus atrial septal defect and partially anomalous pulmonary venous return (PAPVR).
Today, he made the track team and will be running the mile. Even before his first race is run, we know that we have already won! Thanks to all of you for the love and care that we received and you continue to give to patients each day!
