Micheli anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction in skeletally immature youths: A retrospective case series with a mean 3-year follow up

PI: S. Clifton Willimon, M.D., Michael Busch M.D.
This study is to evaluate the clinical outcomes of a physeal-sparing technique using the illotibial band for combined intra-articular and extra-articular ACL reconstruction. At a mean 3-year follow-up, the study findings confirmed excellent functional outcomes, a low ACL revision rate, and no growth disturbances.

Subscapularis avulsion of the lesser tuberosity in adolescent

PI: Michael Busch M.D.
This study is a long-term clinical follow-up study of patients with isolated lesser tuberosity avulsions in skeletally immature patients. Operative treatment consisted of a diagnostic arthroscopy to evaluate for concomitant pathology, followed by an open reattachment of the tuberosity through an incision in line with the anterior axillary fold.

Effects of bracing in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis (BrAIST)

PI: Michael Schmitz, M.D., National Institutes of Health
The BrAIST study is a Phase III, multicenter, prospective partially-randomized, partially blinded clinical trial, designed to determine whether the use of the thoracolumbosacral orthoses (brace) lowers the risk of curve progression in patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) relative to observation (watchful waiting).
