Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Ranked Among Top 100 Employers For 12th Year in a Row by Fortune Magazine

ATLANTA (March 9, 2017) – Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has been ranked among Fortune magazine’s elite list of “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America. It is the 12th consecutive time the not-for-profit pediatric healthcare system has been named to the list. Landing at No. 56, Children’s is the only Georgia healthcare system on the list and one of only four companies headquartered in Georgia.

Children’s, a not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to making kids better today and healthier tomorrow. The free-standing pediatric health care system’s specialized care helps children get better faster and live healthier lives. Managing more than 1 million patient visits annually at three hospitals and 28 neighborhood locations, Children’s is the largest healthcare provider for children in Georgia and one of the largest pediatric clinical care providers in the country. Children’s puts a primary focus on employees, so it makes sense that the organization was ranked on a list that highlights specialty areas such as health care, childcare and work-life balance.

In addition to traditional benefits, Children’s offers many unique programs, including backup childcare, onsite employee health clinics, onsite massage, concierge services, expectant parent support and $10,000 in adoption and fertility assistance. Children’s is committed to supporting employees—at work and at home. For example, programs like Strong4Life, offer physical fitness and stress relief options.

“We are honored to celebrate our 12th consecutive year on Fortunes ‘100 Best Places to Work’ list," said Linda Matzigkeit, Chief Administrative Officer at Children’s. "This achievement is a true testament to our remarkable employees and all they do to make Children's such a special place. We're grateful for their ongoing dedication and compassion to the kids and families we serve.”

Children’s was selected among hundreds of companies vying for a place on the list this year. Applicant companies opt to participate in the selection process, which includes an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about their programs and company practices. Great Place to Work then evaluates each application using its unique methodology based on five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.

Additionally, we have been recently named to other Fortune rankings, including the 2016 "Best Workplaces for Parents" and "Best Workplaces for Giving Back" lists.
