Dawn is a registered nurse in the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Center of Children"s Healthcare of Atlanta. To help her—and her fellow pediatric nurses—get through the toughest of days, Dawn wrote this poem while volunteering at a camp for children battling cancer.
Most people think if the walls of a children’s hospital could talk, they would tell you of sadness, pain, suffering and loss. But I’ve spent years inside these walls, and I know they’d sing a different tune. If these walls could talk, they would tell you of hope, compassion, strength and courage.
If only these walls could talk.
The photos in this post depict moments captured throughout the walls and halls of our Egleston and Scottish Rite hospital campuses.
