Introduction

Dr. Mohan John is a board certified, fellowship-trained cardiothoracic surgeon who specializes in the diagnosis and surgical management of congenital heart defects. He completed his medical education at Christian Medical College and Hospital in Vellore, India, and his general surgery residency at BronxCare Health System, an Affiliate of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, serving as Chief Resident his final year. Dr. John received a Postgraduate Certificate in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine before completing a residency in cardiothoracic surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. He completed his fellowship in congenital cardiac surgery at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta/Emory University, receiving focused training in advanced surgical techniques to repair congenital heart defects. In addition to providing patient care, Dr. John serves as an Instructor of Congenital Cardiac Surgery at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta/Emory University to train the next generation of cardiothoracic surgeons. Dr. John has published his research in numerous peer-reviewed journals, contributed to several book chapters and has presented at some of the most esteemed cardiothoracic symposia in the world.
