Introduction

Dr. Kulkarni is a pediatric physiatrist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. During his residency he received several awards including, the Academic Excellence Award and Research Excellence Award. He was also the vice chief resident and sports medicine coordinator of his residency program. During his fellowship at Children’s, he developed an interest in caring for children with developmental disabilities.

Dr. Kulkarni is board certified in pediatric rehabilitation medicine. His clinical focus is caring for children with disabling conditions and striving to improve their function and quality of life. He is actively involved in pediatric rehabilitation as well as muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy and spina bifida multidisciplinary clinics.

Dr. Kulkarni’s research interests include functional outcomes regarding level of spinal cord injury, ability to self-report pain after stroke and pediatric traumatic brain injury critical care. He has attended numerous conferences and published several abstract and publication chapters on the care for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
