Established in 2011, Emerging Leaders for Children’s (ELC) is a leadership development board of accomplished business professionals, physicians and community volunteers in their 30s and early 40s. As ambassadors, advocates and fundraisers, members have a profound impact on Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta—one of the nation’s leading and largest pediatric healthcare systems.
ELC’s mission is to advance the vision of Children’s by engaging the community and raising awareness and funds for unique high-priority initiatives, as well as growing the next generation of volunteer leaders.
Under the oversight of the Children’s Foundation Board of Trustees, ELC educates members about Children’s and its vision for the future in order to develop strong community ambassadors, fundraisers and future volunteer leaders. Regular business meetings, networking opportunities with trustees and executives, volunteer engagement with patients, and member socials make for a meaningful ELC experience.
Hosted every spring, The Scrubs Party is ELC’s signature fundraising event. Beneficiaries are voted on by the group and supported through creative fundraising and advocacy initiatives throughout the year. To date, ELC has raised more than $5 million for Children’s programs, including Behavioral and Mental Health, Food Allergy Program, Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, the Center for Advanced Technology and Robotic Rehabilitation, the Stephanie V. Blank Center for Safe and Healthy Children, the Neurosciences Program, the Children’s Heart Research and Outcomes Center (HeRO). In addition, ELC helped launch the Children’s childhood obesity prevention campaign (Strong4Life) in metro Atlanta.
The twelfth annual Scrubs Party will take place in the spring of 2025. Please check back soon for more details.
