Talking With Children About Situational Safety
Talking With Children About Situational Safety
Can you think of a memory as a young child where you were made to hug someone you didn’t want to hug? Or maybe forced to share something you didn’t want to share? Most people have at least one memory as a child that reminds them of a time where they broke personal boundaries so they wouldn’t break societal norms. Dr. Emmanuel Peña will discuss how we can help our children say no in situations where they feel uncomfortable or when their boundaries are being crossed. Participants will learn how they can nurture children’s ability to stand up for themselves while still upholding parental expectations and mutual respect.
