Vulnerable Child Syndrome
Parents that confront stressful and/or traumatic experiences with their children during pregnancy or infancy may inadvertently learn to see their child as “fragile.” This perception may lead to parenting practices that impede normal child development, learning, socialization, and may evolve into causing medical harm in severe cases.
