Introduction

Thomas Burns, PsyD, ABPP, is a double board-certified Pediatric Neuropsychologist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Adjunct Clinical Professor at Emory University School of Medicine. For more than 25 years, Dr. Burns served as the Practice Director of Neuropsychology and Chief of Psychology at Children’s. He is currently the Medical Director of Concussion Research.

Dr. Burns received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania with a major in the biological basis of behavior. Following his undergraduate studies, he obtained his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta. Dr. Burns’ then completed a predoctoral internship in neuropsychology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and St. Christopher’s Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia. Following the completion of a postdoctoral residency at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Dr. Burns became a licensed psychologist in Georgia in 1996. He is double board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in clinical neuropsychology and clinical psychology with a specialization in pediatric neuropsychology.

In his spare time, Dr. Burns enjoys spending time with his wife and four daughters.
