Introduction

Dr. Olson is the Director of the Solid Tumor Program in the Aflac Cancer Center and Professor of Pediatrics at Emory. He is Chair of the Clinical and Translational Research Committee of the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. He graduated from Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and did his residency and fellowship training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

As a member of the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), Dr. Olson served on the Rare Tumor Executive Committee and chaired the Germ Cell Tumor Subcommittee. He continues to serve on and was a founding member of the Malignant Germ Cell Tumor International Consortium. He is a member of the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) PDQ Pediatric Treatment Editorial Board and the Pediatric Blood and Cancer Editorial Board. His research interests include germ cell tumors and rare tumors, and he has authored numerous articles and chapters on these subjects. He is a co-editor of “Rare Tumors in Children and Adolescents,” published by Springer. Dr. Olson enjoys travelling in his free time and was listed as one of Atlanta Magazine's "Top Doctors" in 2016 and 2017.
