Education and support for kids and families
Booty Camp is a seven-day outpatient program for children dealing with fecal incontinence. Kids attend daily along with their parents or caregivers. At the end of the week, families should have:
- A child who is continent every 24 hours using their customized treatment
- An understanding of how continence works
- Information on why their child soils so everyone understands
- A support network of families of children
Patients with the following conditions are candidates to attend camp:
- Anorectal malformations, such as imperforate anus, in which the opening is missing or blocked
- Hirschsprung’s disease, a blockage of the large intestine
- Spinal or sacral disorders that affect the bowel (spina bifida, tethered cord, myelomeningocele, tumors or absent sacrum)
- Motility disorders, when nerves or muscles in the digestive tract do not function properly
- Severe constipation with poor response to past treatment
