Srikant Iyer, MD, MPH, is the Chief Medical and Quality Officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In this role, he focuses on patient safety, clinical outcomes, high reliability, and facilitating a learning health system environment by leading Children’s Campus Medical Operations, Quality and Patient Safety and Professional Staff Services. He also serves as Professor of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Emory University’s School of Medicine.

Dr. Iyer came to Children’s Healthcare in Atlanta in 2018 and has served in a number of leadership roles, including Chief Quality Officer and Chief of Emergency Services. He is a member of the Quality Committee of the Children’s Board of Trustees and a Trustee on the Children’s Care Network (TCCN) Board.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Iyer has led several large, successful improvement efforts and has provided national leadership as the Improvement Advisor for the National Pediatric Cardiology Quality Improvement Collaborative, sponsored by the Joint Commission on Congenital Heart Disease, and as an Innovation Advisor to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center. He has served as a mentor for faculty interested in a path of improvement leadership and has been a teaching faculty member for several improvement courses.

Dr. Iyer is board-certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He earned his medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He earned a master’s degree in public health from Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He enjoys going on long walks and hikes, watching Hollywood and Bollywood movies, and spending time with his family.
