Fortune Magazine Ranks Children's Healthcare of Atlanta as One of Its 'Top 100 Employers' for the 14th Year in a Row

ATLANTA (Feb. 14, 2019) – Fortune magazine featured Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on its 2019 list of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America. This is the 14th consecutive year that the list included the not-for-profit pediatric healthcare system. Ranked at No. 79, Children’s is the only freestanding pediatric healthcare system in the nation on the list and one of three companies headquartered in Georgia.

Children’s is dedicated to making kids better today and healthier tomorrow, and believes that providing specialized care helps children get better faster and live healthier lives. Managing more than 1 million patient visits annually at three hospitals, Marcus Autism Center, the Center for Advanced Pediatrics and 19 neighborhood locations, Children’s is the largest healthcare provider for children in Georgia and one of the largest pediatric clinical care providers in the country.

Children’s offers programs and services that support employees in their professional and personal lives. In addition to traditional benefits, Children’s offers onsite employee health clinics, back-up childcare, concierge services, tuition reimbursement, expectant parent support and up to $10,000 in adoption and fertility assistance. Children’s also offers comprehensive wellness support, including nutrition, fitness and stress management offerings through its employee wellness program, Strong4Life.

“We are excited to celebrate our 14th consecutive year of receiving this elite recognition from Fortune,” said Linda Matzigkeit, Chief Administrative Officer at Children’s. “Children’s is a special place because of our extraordinary employees. Through compassion and dedication to our patients and each other, we have created a culture and workplace that is uniquely supportive.”

Children’s was selected among hundreds of companies vying for a place on the list this year. Applicant companies opt to participate in the selection process, which includes an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about programs and company practices. Great Place to Work then evaluates each application, using its unique methodology based on five dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. Great Place to Work also completes an assessment of the company’s values—including people’s ability to contribute new ideas and the effectiveness of their leaders—to help ensure consistent experiences.

Additionally, Children’s has been recently named to other Fortune rankings, including the 2018 "Best Workplaces for Giving Back," "Best Workplaces for Diversity," "Best Workplaces for Women" and "Best Workplaces in Health Care" lists.
