Honorary Construction Managers
Arthur Blank selected three special patients to help provide him—and the community—with construction updates on the new Children’s hospital.
Arthur Blank, Co-Founder of The Home Depot and Chair of The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, knows how important it is to have someone you trust overseeing construction projects.
That’s why the Atlanta philanthropist recently chose three special pediatric patients to serve as Honorary Construction Managers as work continues on the new Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Arthur M. Blank Hospital. These patients will share regular updates with Mr. Blank, in addition to behind-the-scene previews with the community.
The three Honorary Construction Managers are Ariella-Faith, Lex and Jojo, who have all received lifesaving care at Children’s. They also embody the Hope and Will that is so often seen in the strong and resilient patients in the Children’s System.
“Honorary Construction Managers will be on-site—when possible—to help supervise construction of the hospital and make sure everything is child friendly.” –Arthur Blank
Arthur M. Blank Hospital is a transformative $1.5 billion project that will improve quality of care, patient experience and access to specialized pediatric healthcare for Georgia’s children and families. Arthur M. Blank Hospital, the largest healthcare project ever in the history of the state, is expected to open its doors in 2025.
The Honorary Construction Managers will work in lockstep with Chris Chelette, Vice President of Planning, Design and Construction at Children’s. He is overseeing the construction of the 1.5-million-square-foot hospital project and will take the three Honorary Construction Managers on tours of the hospital construction site over the next four years. Chris will share the latest updates and insights into what goes into building an innovative pediatric hospital, which the Honorary Construction Managers will then share with Mr. Blank and the Atlanta community.
